OpenTopography now offers access to New Zealand's national 1 meter resolution lidar-derived Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and Digital Surface Model (DSM), produced by Toitū Te Whenua - Land Information New Zealand (LINZ). These high-resolution elevation products are derived from an extensive collection of airborne lidar surveys and provide seamless coverage across the country. With exceptional detail and accuracy, the datasets are well-suited for a variety of applications, including hydrology, hazard assessment, forestry, urban planning, and much more. As new surveys are completed, updated elevation data will be regularly added through the LINZ Data Service and LINZ basemaps. Where multiple lidar surveys have been undertaken in a single location, recent data is prioritized and older data is not included.
