OT Collection Name: Mapping of Displacements Near Parkfield, California
Short Name: CA18_Vadman
Collection Platform: Airborne Lidar
Collection Overview:
This collection of ALSM data near Parkfield, California was collected as an NCALM Seed grant for Michael Vadman, Virginia Tech University. This dataset provides an opportunity to create a time-series of spatially-dense displacement measurements across the creeping/transitional portion of the San Andreas fault extending from 1929 to the present. The targeted portion of the fault has experienced fairly regular M5-6 earthquakes since the ~M7.9 1857 Fort Tejon earthquake, which ruptured from Parkfield to San Bernardino.
Dataset Acknowledgement: Any use of this data should acknowledge lidar data acquisition and processing completed by the National Center for Airborne Laser Mapping (NCALM). NCALM funding provided by NSF's Division of Earth Sciences, Instrumentation and Facilities Program (EAR# 1339015).
