The MLS vehicle was directed along both sides of the F1 rupture trace at a distance of ~10 -15 m. This focus on the rupture trace achieved point density of 1000s of pts/m² in the nearest field (+/- ~10m from the trace) and 100s of pts/m² out to ~ 100m from the trace. Individual laser reflections have an absolute accuracy of better than ~1cm (Brooks et al., 2013; Brooks et al., 2017) .
