The platform was deployed on a Robinson R44 Raven II helicopter. The laser scanner operates at 1550 nm +/- 1 nm wavelength and is flown from 300 to 500 m above-ground at 30 - 60 kts with ground swath width of 300-500m and sampling of ~40 points/m². These acquisition parameters yield vertical and horizontal accuracy of 3-5 cm & 6-10 cm, respectively. Standard processing techniques were used to remove laser returns from vegetation and enhance laser returns from the ground surface (Glennie, et al. 2014).
